Test Score Percentage Calculator

The Test Score Percentage Calculator does what the bottom of every graded paper does: divides the number right by the number possible, multiplies by 100 and labels the result. It also adds the practical extras: extra-credit points, missed questions, and how much closer an extra few marks would have pushed the grade up.

Handy for practice tests, entrance exams and classroom quizzes alike. The same maths also works for weighted tests - just include the bonus and the calculator will fold it in. Pair it with the High School GPA Converter when you want the percentage translated back to a 4.0 GPA point.

Frequently asked questions

Are grading scales the same everywhere?

No. Many schools use a 90/80/70/60 cut for A/B/C/D; this tool uses the more granular + and − scale, which is the common US standard.

What if my score is over 100%?

That happens with extra credit. The percentage stays above 100% and the letter grade follows the same scale, so an A+ is still an A.
